Toronto’s 2014 Mayoral CANdidates Emerge at CNE

On Saturday, August 09, 2014, Canstruction held a special event build in Toronto, Canada for the upcoming Canadian National Exhibition (CNE). The ever-talented DWL Architects + Planners, Inc. designed and built the three impressive mosaics in the likeness of the front-running mayoral candidates for Toronto's 2014 election: John Tory, Olivia Chow, and Rob Ford. Each candidate was made up of over 3,000 cans of tuna fish, measuring in at 6 feet in height and length, which provided 2,600 meals to The Salvation Army. CNE, also known as "The EX", is holding its 136th annual event from August 15 to September 1, 2014; and will provide large donation bins in front of each of the three structures. Every CNE attendee is encouraged to bring in a canned food item in order to vote for who they think should win the election, creating a unique element of charity and democracy at this year's exhibition.
