John Deere CAN DO Combine Canstructure Sets World Record!
11/17/2011 – John Deere partnered with Canstruction and Canstruction Chicago team RTKL Architects to celebrate the release of John Deere’s S-series combine by building the Worlds Largest Canstructure for Project “CAN DO”. A life size replica of the combine was made out of over 300,000+ cans of food and was reveled on Nov 17, 2011. It was a celebration of farmers helping to feed the world with technology improvements and huge hearts. All the food will be donated to the Moline Riverbend Foodbank and various Feeding AmericaFoodbanks in the Midwest after the deconstruction on Dec 11, 2011
The army of John Deere employees, retirees, families and heading the build RTKL Architects built the new S-Series combine. The 16 feet tall, 80 feet long and 60 feet wide structure will be on display through December 11th 2011 at the John Deere pavilion in Moline, IL.The project is a salute to the role farmers play in feeding the world as well as a community effort to help feed the hungry.
