Canstruction Joins America’s Second Harvest to Ring NASDAQ Bell

As a valued contributor, America’s Second Harvest invited Canstruction to join them in ringing the NASDAQ closing bell on Thanksgiving Eve, November 21st, at NASDAQ’s headquarters in Times Square, New York City. Canstruction Executive Director, Cheri Melillo along with SDA New York Chapter BOD and Canstruction committee members Michele Maestri and Patricia Leyden represented Canstruction.

The event was aired on Fox Business Network, CNBC, CNBC.com, CNBC India, KTVU, NDTV (New Delhi) and Bloomberg & Bloomberg Brazil. The ceremony was projected live onto NASDAQ’s jumbo screen at 43rd & Broadway in Times Square. Afterwards the group had their photos taken in front of the screen.

In a formal presentation NASDAQ highlighted the exceptional work done by America’s Second Harvest and its network of food banks in getting food to over 35 million Americans who go hungry each year. ASH Board Member, Eric Leventhal, did the formal honors in ringing the bell.

Canstruction is proud of its long and continued association with the many of America’s Second Harvest food bank members throughout America who receive canned foods generated by many of our competitions.
